abilify | ADHD Information

Has anyone had problems with ablilfy. The doctor wants me to try this with my son who is 7yrs old. He is adhd and currently on vyvanse, which is making him very emotional in the mornings. He tried risperadal before and it didn't help made his moods worse. Abilify is an A typical anti Psychotic, and is sometimes used for kids with ADHD, it is also used for Bp. My friends DS takes it, he has ADHD/ODD, and does well on it. He takes 2.5 mgs, and is 14. It's a 3rd line med for ADHD, have you tried other stims, or just Vyvanse?I have tried other meds, he did very well on adderall xr and than just one day it seemed not to work. We actually are going to try him back on adderall tomorrow. The doctor said that maybe by him being off the adderall he may adjust to it again. I will try going back to adderall and then if not try adding the abilify.
