thanks for your replies, yes he has lost a bit of weight 3kilos since feb, the drs say he is a little under weight but there not worried  beacuse hes grown quite a bit, i just dont want him to lose anymore weight. Im having him weighted every month so we can keep track of it

I suppose you will speak with his doctor?

I certainly understand there are different factors involved with your son/each person's circumstances differ, but I was wondering about med effect?  When my teen DS was taking low-dose Adderall-XR, he had no appetite and he lost weight.  Once he stopped it (doctor prescribed another med) his appetite returned (and how!) and he gained back the lost weight.  Just an idea.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Have you checked with the dr. regarding his growth?  Is he normal weight for his height?  I don't know anything about asperger syndrome as my son doesn't have that.  However, due to your child taking concerta-he will have less of an appetite.  It is a suppressant.  I would consider giving him some sort of reward for forcing himself to eat beyond his point of fullness. Also, contact his dr. to make sure he isn't losing weight and that he is healthy, regularly.

My son is 6 and has ADHD and Asperger Syndrome, he is on meds concerta xl 18mg and melatonin 4mg. He seems to be doing fine on them apart from his eating his so bad, i cant remember the last time he eat a full meal. School says he keeps refusing to eat his school dinner making excuses like he is allergic to it (which he isnt). I have been into school and spoke to the headteacher and she suggested doing a food dairy at both home and school and that my son as a teacher sat with him at lunchtime once a week and then i go into to school on a different day and sit with him. Which of course i dont mind doing but dont they realise i sit with him at every meal he has and no matter how much encourgment i give him and praise nothing works he just makes out he has tummy ache or that he dont like the food hes eating (even though i no he does). Im just looking for any help you guys can suggest because i dont no what else to do. Another thing he does, he loves drinking water thats the only thing he will drink and he makes me fill the cup up with water 4 times and then tip the water out again before he will drink it, is this down to his asperger syndrome? sorry i dont no that much about it.
