Isn't it amazing how our kids can focus sooo intently on things they want to focus on and yet pay absolutely no attention to other things.  =)  It is one of those mysteries that absolutely amazes me about these kids.

A snail on the sidewalk?  We can stop dead still and look for hours.

Feeding the dog?  We can go whole hours trying to complete this 2 second task.

The way their brains process information is totally amazing. =)

You guys are right! Now if I can just figure out a way to channel it towards,
say, cleaning her room!

I just know that this ability to persist is going to lead our children to do
great things....
My kids have that same kind of 'stick-to-it-tiveness'.  Unfortunatley in their case it doesn't carry over to school, sports, music lessons...  if onlyAn actual conversation yesterday:

DD: Annie, will you play with me? Annie, Annie, please play with me.
Annie, please.

Annie: No. I'm sick.

DD: Annie, please play with me. Annie. Play. Please, Annie. Please play
with me.

Annie: No, Jillie. I'm sick.

DD: When will you play with me? Please, Annie. Play with me.

This pretty much went on all day.

At dinner, my dh asked dd why she kept asking Annie to play even though
Annie kept saying no.

DD's answer: Because she might say maybe!
