We have been having all kinds of trouble with my ds again. Last week we got behavior reports (not the good kind) 4 out of 5 days from school. And when I went to pick him up after bible study on Wednesday, the first thing the teacher said to me was "I have to tell you he was horrible today - we almost came and got you". *SIGH
I took him back to the dr yesterday as he was due for his monthly checkup anyway. He has been on 18mg Concerta, and last month we added .5mg tenex in the morning hoping that would help. It helped him sleep, but that's it.
So yesterday they upped his Concerta to 27mg. I have to take him back in 2 week to see how he is tolerating it. He hasn't gained an ounce since he started the meds, or grown any taller, and the dr is concerned about that. So, hopefully he will do ok and not lose any weight. Sheesh!
Why does this all have to be so freakin hard? Why isn't there some kind of way to really help these kids, long term, without all the med adjusting and everything else? I guess I am just frustrated....thanks for listening.
