When you find the right med at the right dose it could possibly last for years. DD has been on the same med at the same dose for over a year now, and still doing great.
Rebound is common with meds, so maybe a shorter acting med with a bumper might be the key?
Son goes for his check up - he is currently on 36mg concerta with a bumper of Ritalin 10mg at noon. We still see a lot of hyperactivity in the mornings and then after about 8:00 pm - with the weather finally warmer we see an improvement if he can go outside in the evenings and play basketball, just wear himself out - should I ask her for a bump in the mornings - I was thinking an overall bump - he seems to do really well right after she adjusted his meds but then in about 1.5 mnths he is regressing again - do we just keep doing this until something works and when we do find the right dosage will it last longer than 1 mnth to 2 mnth - it just seems his body adapts to it really fast - anyone else have this problem? Also I know there are good days and bad days but it seems if he is in a bad mood in the morning then he is going to have a really bad day - last week he told a kid he wanted to kill him and it was after a horrible morning - since then he has had nothing but ok to good days - like he gets stuck in a rutt and can't get over it - anyone got any advice on how to get him out of this cycle?
