Daytrana 20 mg problems | ADHD Information

The 20 mg is huge compared to the 10 or 15. the 30 mg is GIANT!

Hi All:

I was wondering if any one else was experiencing difficulty with the Daytrana 20 mg patch staying on.  DS just moved up to 20 mg from 15 mg.  For the last 3 days (4 days since we started the 20 mg) he has come home from school with patch completely off or very close.  It appears to be happening pretty early in the day.  Any advice or info on this would be helpful!

Are you making sure the sin is clean adn dry before applying it? We had issues with the 20 mg "rolling up" when DD used it. It would roll off her skin and come off. I used Bandage tape  on the edges to keep it ona nd it worked well.

Yes we have a whole procedure that we have been doing for a year and a half.  We did not have the problems with the 15 mg patch except a few times near the end of the pack of patches.  DS is 7 and is only 46 lbs so there is not a lot of real estate there to attach the patch but we are dealing.  Why do they have to make the patch so darn huge?

I had used the paper tape on a few of those 15 mg patches so I guess I will go and get more bandage.  Whew!  Why can't they make the perfect med?

yo, my names mike and im 16 years old. while using the 30mg daytrana patch, i have recently been experiencing some of the rarer symptoms, such as cramps and muscle soreness.

For example, last night i had a baseball game and when i woke up this morning i was sore as hell. usually im not really sore from baseball games. the only soreness i get is usually around the back shoulder of my throwing arm and parts of my throwing arm, along with some minuscule soreness in my quads from stealing bases and running down fly balls. (i am the lead off hitter and being one of the faster ones i the team, i run a lot more)But when i woke up this morning, my quads were a lot more sore than normal and my whole entire back was sore. and during the game i was getting "toe cramps" and frequent cramping of my calves, back, and hip.

I do not blame the "loss of appetite" side effect of the patch, because i still eat my regular intake of food, which happens to be a very well balanced diet, which includes more than double the amount of daily protein value. i also work out frequently but haven't in the past week, so this muscle soreness is unrelated to my working out.

I do blame the patch for causing these cramps and sores, because stimulants do cause dehydration. BUT, i am always constantly drinking water daily; enough water that my urine is constantly clear. I am not sure why i still get this rare side effects of muscle cramps and sores, but i do know that the patch has been causing them.Well today and yesterday were good days!  Patches on for entire day and DS very level.  We have missed that,  But as always were are continuously waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop.  But I will take this happily as long as we can!
