Hi, that is awful, kids can be so mean. My daughter is 8 and in a class made up mostly of boys who have been behavioral problems since kindergarten. They are verbaly abusive to her and some get physical. I've spoken to the teacher who is very aware of the situation and she sends them to the office every day, every time it occurs. These boys could care less, some have already been in in-school suspension, have referrals, etc.... the parents do nothing to help the situation. Like you, I'm glad there are only a few weeks left of school. Luckily my daughter still loves school despite the problems. She absolutely loves her new teacher (the last teacher was fired, horrible teacher and could not control the class at all) so I havent raised holy h$%^ll, however, if things dont change next year, I will be at school every day until these animals are stopped.
I too wish these kids would grow up or move out of the area, no such luck. I do plan to home school in middle school, so I figure another few years and she wont have to deal with the school situations.
Hang in there, hopefully a summer without these nasty kids will do a world of good for your son. I'm sure he's very appreciative of your driving him to school.
Can I just vent a bit?
My son gets the cold shoulder from the kids at his morning bus stop. It's so sad! They will literally walk right past him to say hi to another child arriving!
We live near a lake and all the kids from around the lake get picked up at the same bus stop. It's the kids who live on the other side of the lake who are treating my son like an Untouchable. And one of the kids is in his class at school!
The problem is that it sets him up to have a bad day. He takes it very personally. I do to! I just want to smack those kids, or shake them, or something! And don't even get me started about the parents who look the other way...
Only a few more weeks to go. Who knows, maybe all the kids will move away over the summer, or grow up and learn how to be decent. Actually, I think my schedule will be changing next year and he won't even be using that bus stop. Even now I usually drive him to school a couple days a week to give him a break from the kids.
Okay, I think I've got it out of my system. Thanks for listening.
