Questions about Respidal | ADHD Information

My son (8) has been taking Respidal for about 4 weeks now for anger and I really don't see too much of a change yet, he has no side effects like eating more at all. But, I am seeing an increase of him telling me he has a headache so I was wondering if anyone's child has this? It starting just a few days since taking it and he has been saying it a few times a week now. nothing major, just will say it and move it. Just wondering if this is a normal.

Thanks!!!

Marie

Hi!

Will takes this also and will be 9 next month.

I have not seen any changes in him either but no headaches.  Sorry I could not help.

welcome, Marie. You say your son takes risperadol for anger. Does he take any other medication and has he been diagnosed with anything? Jon is taking risperadol in the late afternoons after his adhd meds wear off to take the edge off his anger. It has taken a month for us to see a little difference. He usually just gets sleepy from it.

Jon used to get terrible headaches from some of his adhd meds which is why I asked if your child is on any.

My child was eight when he took that med. He took it for two years with no problems. It worked really well for him. But I would let the docs know so they can check him out. Good LuckThe doctor is wanting to put my ad-hd daughter on this what are the side affects?  The doctor said he thinks she is bi-polar or has aspergers.
Please help me.

My six year old son has been taking Risperdal for a month.  He has had some success with relation to behavior and focus at school, and we have not had any major side effects.  He tends toward migraines, but he has not complained of any headaches recently.  The only thing I have noticed is that he seems to cry more easily in the afternoons, which seems minor compared to some of the reactions we used to see.
