In need of help

Hi! I have a 12-year-old boy who has been diagnosed with ADHD/ODD. He was prescribed 36 mg concerta. Things went well for a few months (at least severe accidents stopped and grades improved), but he lost a lot of weight, was having severe headaches and stomachaches, couldn't sleep or had nightmares, and threatened suicide a few times. I let him stop taking meds because I was terrified at what they were doing to him. I told myself dealing with the behavior issues was a lot better than dealing with suicide threats. However, it didn't make the problem any easier. His grades are slipping and the calls are starting from the school again. I don't even know where to start. I would like to find out information on natural remedies, diet and modifying/addressing behaviors.Hi there, I have been having similar problems with my 7 year old son he is also had ADHD and is on concerta 36 mg. He also has stomach pain and finds it difficult to sleep. I have put my son on and natural vitamin called EYE Q they need an intense dose to get into his system 6 vitamin a day for 12 weeks they are expensive but I think they are worth a try.  They contain omega 3 & 6 and oil of evening primrose.  They say fish oils are good for eye and brain stimulation and I have noticed a differencein his behaviour.  At the moment I am keeping him on concerta and these vitamins.  Who knows maybe in the future I could just keep him on eye q without concerta.  Good luck anyway Hi there. I'm sorry you are having such a terrible time. My son(8) has been on concerta for 3 years, and lately he has started to have severe problems. They boosted him up to the max 54 mg and he seems to be doing worse. He to is suffering from depression and has thoughts of hurting himself. after doing some digging i've found quite of few parents and teens, that were on the drug, that reported the same problems. I've decided to get my son switched to Adderall. None of the natural remedies have worked for my son.But that is just his case. But I'm definitely starting to see a bad pattern with Concerta. Good luck.
