It works for us | ADHD Information

great idea, i will have to keep that in mind as mine as starting to gain independence quickly. A whole bottle of soap?  I'm jealous.  At this point that sounds great to me.  Anyone have tips for getting the soap-phobic child to wash up? I wouldn't be jealous, jaderock, they usually pour most of it into the tub, down the drain while playing.

I also have a "hygiene lazy" child.  He is 13.  Anything less than micro-managing every aspect, I haven't figured out how to make sure they care, and remember to do what is a minimal thing one does per day.

my daughter has run the gambit from "soap phobis" to using the whole bottle..............it DOES get better.

Sick of hearing me say that . It really does, unfortunatley it tkaes years.....and years......and years.....of micromanaging, but I think we are on the upcurve with dd. Puberty is just not right!

Good suggestions! (My dd does the same thing with shampoo...can't wait to
try your idea!)

Just wanted to let you know a trick that works for us. My ds is at the age where he thinks he needs privacy in the shower. He also has a history of using a whole bottle of shampoo or body wash in one shower. I now buy the little empty travel bottles and fill them half way with the soap. Its easier to monitor the usage and since he knows we monitor it he wastes less often. Also we have started using a sleep mask (.00 at Kmart). Nothing fancy but it helps him fall asleep faster.
