camp buckskin | ADHD Information

We looked into it too.  My 11 son is ready to leave home - however, I am more concerned with the fact that kids are not allowed to phone home at all - parents can call the camp admin in case of emergency(?)... and I thought I had read that kids need to learn to accept their punishments.  What does that mean?  I also looked into a place called camp soar - they seem to do special needs kids too but don't call it behavior therapy....

We are in Illinois and I feel cut off from a lot of the help other people talk about.  The only place close by was an hour + drive and was day camp only and was ,000.00.

Am interested if anyone has any good experience with camp soar buckskin or any other camps.

I've heard only good things about SOAR. ALL GOOD. The only compaint I heard was from a Mom who's daughter was the only girl in her group, which is why I ruled them out as an option for us. My daughters needs friends that are girls and she is not super physical.

anybody in the midwest...have you used camp buckskin as a summer camp?  i've been reading the reviews and all and they are wonderful.  i'm not sure if my 11 is ready to be away from us for a month, nor if we are ready for the 00 bill, but we are considering it.  it sounds like it would be perfect for her...increase her self esteem and work on friendships, etc.
