Mood Change with Tenex increase? | ADHD Information
Every time we have increased dd's tenex she has been moody and out of it
for at least a week or two but it does seem to go away. I might give it some
time. You could also try splitting the p.m. dose between afternoon and
bedtime for a while to see if her body adjusts.
Good luck!I wpuld call her dr and see what he says. Good luckThanks everyone. I also talked with her nurse practitioner this afternoon. She wants us to stick it out for another week to see if her body will adjust to the increased dose. Her thoughts were that the moodiness could just be caused by her being tired from the increased dose. (This is the first time she's had any side effects from the tenex since we started in January.)
Wondering if the combo of the Tenex and Concerta were making her too mellow, we went without the Concerta today. Not a good choice. On top of being tired, she was much more emotional, melted down at the drop of a hat and couldn't focus on anything. We wouldn't skip the Concerta again...
Tenex can be sedating. Do you think that might be what's going on? My child takes it (technically, the generic guanfacine) and he doesn't have that side effect, but some people do.
I'd give it some time to see if her body adjusts to it. If not, then maybe it's not the right med.
Good luck!
Mom2ADHDboy39617.3123032407We recently increased my daughter's dose of Tenex about a week ago. (From 1.5 mg to 2 mg - 1 mg am and 1 mg pm). The past couple of days she's been much more moody and out of sorts in the evenings. We also have a lot going on in our house right now - so I don't know if it is just stress or the increase of her tenex.
What have people experienced when they have increased Tenex? She's also on 27 mg of Concert. During the day, she a little more blah, but I don't know if that is because she is tired or if it's the med.
