in my experience...
concerta sucks
i dont like the methylphenidate type of meds
they seem to make me very BLAHHH
adderall is way better
the amphetamine type of meds seems to work better
they dont put me in this "blah" state
they actually take me out of it, haha
how come this is so??
i mean, its a pretty big difference between the way methylphenidate and amphetamine type meds affect me
methylphenidate types just like make me sleepy and very nervous
amphetamine types makes me feel better and have more confidence
what about everyone else's experiences? which works better for you, methylphenidate or amphetamine type meds?
To add a bit more to Diane's point: "All methylphenidates are NOT the same".... neither are all Mixed Amphetamine Salts (generic Adderalls). I've tried three different "brands" of MAS and I responded differently to all of them. So, don't assume if one generic brand makes you a zombie, all the other generics of the same med will have the same effect!
ps: the generic MAS that works best for me is made by Bahr--not suprising since I heard from an Adderall rep. that Bahr bought the patent for regular Adderall (Shire still holds patent for Adderall XR).
no, it's not typical. Everyone is totally different. My daughter doesnt do well on most meds. Aderrall made her a zombie. Concerta, however, made her an anxious, nervous wreck, tics, skin picking, it was terrible, EVERY med, both families killed her appetite completely.
She is now taking methylin ER. A generic methylphedinate and she's doing great. Each med is differnt. All methylphediantes are NOT the same, the release is different, the fillers are different and she reacted differently to ALL fo them. They all pretty much helped her symptoms, but until now she was unable to tolerate any stimulant
I'm about to try out methylphenidate as my first try at meds. Is this the same reaction for most people? I get to try them on Tuesday! Whoop!
