I would warn people about adderall and taking it..
But, honestly, I have been taking add medication since I was 15 and now I am about to turn 20.
I think Adderall is honestly the best medication for add- inattentive type with lacking confidence.
Thats the type I am.
I'm not too too hyper when off meds, but I am very "lost" without them.
Seriously, Ive always been like that and I would self medicate with alcohol and mild drugs before I started taking prescribed meds.
I really do think adderall xr is a Godsend for people like me.
All I have to say to people who take it or are thinking about taking it-
be careful with this med- start at the lowest dose and do not let your doctor prescribe you too high of a dose.
I have been through the ins and outs of ADHD/ADD medications and I always stick with Adderall XR.
And make sure you take breaks from the med every so often, take a break or taper down for a few weeks like every 6 months.
I take add pretty seriously. Add/adhd can really hurt someone's life if you don't help and treat it.
And don't let people judge you based on the medications and disorders you have. Their ignorance is completely irrelevant in your treatment.
Thanks for your post. I have just posted some frustration. I am just trying Adderall RX from Concerta and it is wearing of so quickly. I get super frazzled when it wears off. Unfortunetly I have to test out the medication during the week when I am at work. I know that I missed some things this last Friday due to the wearing off of the medication in the middle of the day. Should I have hope that this is going to work out. My docter had me up the dose on Wed. 6/25 and he wanted me to get up to 40mg. I did that on Friday and by the time the day was over I was in a panic about how bad I did at work. It had moments of working but it was so short. Do you have any advice?
