I'm no doctor but it just sounds like it may be time to up her dose to 27. My son got up to 54 from oct 06 to now.
Your son takes Concerta too?
Yes, we just took him off for summer. He went from 18-27 then to 36 pretty quickly where he leveled off for awhile then not too long ago we brought him up to 54. I was very hesitante but got some good advice on this forum and it turned out to be the right thing to do. My ped said that Concerta works on metabolism and if your daughter is having a growth spurt or hormone change then she could need more meds. She could be testing you as you say but I'd run it by your doctor. How is your DS being off for the summer? I tried to not give her the Concerta today and it has been not too good of a day. She has been loud all day, slamming door, sassy, hyper, talking excessively.....ect...
He's good, goofy and happy. He's loud and disruptive sometimes and is too physical when he's excited. He isn't sassy. He was diagnosed with add inattentive so he's really not aggresive or impulsive. I wonder though because there are times he's VERY hyper. Everyone is different. We had a good ped who would let me up the dose by calling her on the phone. I'd pick up a script for just a few days worth. We'd try it for a few days then i'd report back and she'd give me the full prescription. If you read alot of other posts you'll see that you can't really compare because every child is different. (different symtoms, different metabolism) There's alot of good advice here but in the end you just have to try things and see what works. Right now we are going to the Chiro, taking a probiotic and b vitamins. He's happy, I;m happy. the true test will be when school starts again. I also have the convenience of having a nanny who brings him (all my kids) to summer rec and spends the day there volunteering so he has someone with him all of the time. The med break might not work for us if we didn't have her.
