HELP! ADHD and the Law

I had my Adderall perscription bottle on me and the officer said because my eyes were dialated that I had to be on something then checked me for track marks!  I could not believe it.  Then took me to jail, neverless never finished the thesis that night.  I asked him to look up Adderall, but he was just looking at me with blinders on.  I was being ADHD and in a panic and being pulled over made it worse.

You can get free council and not have to pay for it. I'd challenge it. Thats so not right make sure you have a letter from your doctor stating how long you have been on med's also if they didn't do a tox screen then its not good for them because he needed to rule out the use of other drugs.

How do I go about finding legal help that is free that is good?

WHAT! Are you serious? Pigs. How could they give you a DUI
for that? Unless they think they can give you one if you don't
have proof of a prescription, and because it's an abused drug?

You don't even really need a lawyer but you can call the court and ask for the public defender if you'd feel better having one. You really only need a note from your doctor saying you have ADHD and what medication you should be taking. As long as the tox screen only showed the meds you are prescribed (no alcohol or other drugs) then they have to drop the charges.

They will probably still charge you for speeding or reckless driving, whatever reason the cop had for pulling you over in the first place but they won't be able to charge you for DUI.

I was coming home from the University and I got pulled over.  The police officer thought I was on something.  It was quite late on a Monday evening and he thought I was acting funny.  It was midterms, I was stressed out and a bit of a panic about a thesis due the next day that I was not finished with.  I showed him my perscription bottle for my Adderall and explained I was ADHD and about things with school.  The more I tried to say anything the worse it got.  I was arrested for a DUI and taken to jail.  I am overwhelmed and need some advice about what I can do.  Being a student I don't have much money to get a lawyer and fight.  I have fallen so far behind at school and this week I am entering finals having missed the last 2 weeks of school dealing with this and trying (unsuccesfully) to get my car back.  HELP - anyone have any kind of advice!
