I am just wondering if anyone here on Concerta experienced and increase in sex drive? I started Concerta about a month and a half ago, 18 mg. about a week and half ago it was upped to 36 mg. and my sex drive and fantasy life has gone off the deep end. I won't get graphic, but I have done things with my husband that even he didn't know I had in me.
I just don't know if this is something to be concerned about. My fantasies and sex totally preoccupy my mind now. Before I was distracted from the ADD now I am distracted with sex. I know I should be glad, I think my husband probably is. However, he isn't interested quite as often as I am, which only preoccupies my mind more with it.
I was starting think I was crazy but now I can see a correlation between upping my concerta and my sex drive going to extremes.
Should I talk to the doc about this? Any suggestions....

My sex drive was not nearly like this. Although before this I had been on Antidepressants and other ADD meds that can make you sex drive nonexistent like you were saying. It does seem to be evening out a little more now. Although it is still on my mind, I am not mentioning it so much to my hubby. He must be getting sick of it. So I write in my jounal alot and leave it at that. I would think at 40 my sex drive shouldn't be like this, it seems like I want it more now than I did when I was younger. Don't quite understand it but I guess I was not meant to try to understand it, I guess just to accept it.

LORD, don't let my husband see this! I'm wondering what your sex drive was like before? I've got hypothyroid issues and am also pursuing (at 42) a dx for ADHD. My sex drive (which used to be pretty high) is nearly nonexistent. DH is patient, but not happy. It would be nice if my libido takes off if/when I'm prescribed stimulant medication... though perhaps not too overly much. Good luck with getting things evened out!
