sleeplessness | ADHD Information
As you know, my child recently started Zoloft. The dr. told us that some people find it "activating." W/ the higher dose, maybe you need to play w/ what time of day it's taken and see if there's any change in sleep? Are there any other new behaviors lately, or new things going on?Mom2ADHDboy39671.8533217593I don't have any advice - my son is sleeping well and through the night on the Vyvanse. I just wanted you to know we are thinking of you and hoping things improve soon!my 10 year old DS is not sleeping this past week. he was upped on his Vyvanse and his zoloft both to 50mg about 5 weeks ago. This just started this last week. he is waking me @ 4:45 am tooo early.Usually he sleeps till 6 where I have to wake him. It is nuts he is going to bed at 9pm now which is later, still takes his Melatonin and not enough sleep. I am not sure what is causing this and it is making me nuts. If it was the Vyvanse we would have seen it sooner. I am not sure about the zoloft as it does take weeks to adjust to dose I think. Maybe a stressful week and I didn't seee it. I can't figure it out. Haven't called the Dr. office yet but will if it continues. Just neede a vent Thanks.
spamula, my younger daughter does that around a growth spurt, wakes up really early for a couple of weeks, and eats excessively, then sleeps more, weird, but she's dne that since an infant................just a thought, give it some time.
I DO feel your pain though................anything you can encourage him to do when he wakes up early........of course something that doesn't involve you !!
4:00 THIS MORNING HE WAKES ME UP AND THEN WANTS TO PLAY GAMEBOY. HE IS SO ADDICTED TO THE GAME HE GETS UP EARLY JUST TO PLAY IT. THIS IS INSANE. HE SAYS HE HAD A CUT ON HIS FOOT AND IT HURT BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THERE. HE WAS GOOD THE DAYS HE SLEPT IN MY BED BUT IN HIS OWN BED HE IS A WRECK! THIS IS A WAY TO BOOT HIM OUT OF MY BED(HE'S ONLY BEEN THERE A MONTH) BUT HE HAS FORGOTTEN ALL THE SLEEP RULES. YOU DO NOT WAKE ANYONE TILL AFTER 5:30. STAY IN YOUR BED AND SHUT UP!
