tired on ritalin... | ADHD Information
My doc says that if you experience fatigue while on ritalin that means it's
a pretty good indicator that I do have ADHD.
He has diagnosed me with inattentive adult ADD.
For some reason, I felt like I had heard that was not true. I'm wondering if
anyone out there has an opinion.
I'm feeling like I have the proper diagnosis. But I'm a little concerned now
that my doc may not be up on the latest thinking.
So...opinions please: If stimulants have a sedating effect, does that mean
there's a good chance you have ADD?I believe what he meant was that if it took you from a hyper/racing state of mind to a calmer one that allowed you to focus better, then that is a good indicator that you have ADHD. Honestly, somebody cannot say for sure what your reaction to the meds will be, until you have actually tried it, because everyone's body chemistry is different.
I am not sure about the claim your doctor made, but I can say that I often get tired on Ritalin ( just started a few days ago). The first two days I took it, I fell asleep in the middle of the day!
So far, I have had no beneficial effects from Ritalin, but I am going to try the generic form because in the past, that has worked better for me.
