Vyvanse Side Effects in 10year old | ADHD Information

My 10 year old son took a 30mg dose of vyvanse yesterday for the first time.  He was fine for about 8 hours, then started complaining of stomach pain and nausea.  That lasted for about six hours, he slept and woke up in pretty much the same condition.  Of course, no more pills and many phone conversations with the dr.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similarly severe reaction (he is whimpering from the pain, and vomiting repeatedly) -- and how long before the side effect wore off.
My 8 year old just started Vyvanse today (30mg) he is complaining of nausea.  Not sure if this is just a first day thing.  He is not hungry-he was that way on Concerta-so not much of a surprise.  He was fine for about 7 hours too.  I hope that he does not get to the point of vomiting.  I hate starting new meds, you never know what is going to happen! on another board my friend's daughter had a similar reaction to the Vyvanse (or was it Strattera?) - in either case it was deemed an allergic reaction and she was told to immediately discontinue the med. Maybe a dose of Benadryl wouldn't hurt?

Yikes! My son is on Vyvanse 30mg and sometimes he says his stomach hurts and he isn't hungry, but he hasn't ever thrown up.  I would definately keep following up with the dr and see what he says.  I haven't seen anything on these boards about kids throwing up after taking Vyvanse.

Good luck!

DS is on 50mg Vyvanse, he is ten.  He has nausea from time to time but never vomiting.  He actually has ALWAYS had nausea with all meds.  I would talk to Doc asap just to check!!!!
