How much does he weigh? STrat is dosed by weight, not by symptoms, so going down is NOT going to help. Until he is at the target dose for his weight you will see problems. It will takes 4-6 weeks at target dose for weight for it to stabilize.
It is not the same as Vyvanse, and needs to be dose4d properly in order to work at a rate of 1.2-1.8 mgs per kilo of body weight.
My son has been on Strattera since the begining of the summer. We started off on the 10 mg and worked up. He was ok during the summer on the 25 mg so we did not increase hime right away to the 40 mg. Well last week he was on the 40 mg and he got really irratable in the early evening. So thinking it was the same effect has Vyvanse had, I reduced him to 35 mgs. Well now he is getting more irratable when he gets home from school. The Dr said to go back to the 40 mg and give it a week or two. I cannot get his homework done with out an argument from him when he gets like this.
Has anyone exprienced this with strattera.
OH my son is 10.
