Hello all........I have not posted for a bit. But I am posting from my heart today. I took ds to dr. and she gave us some samples of straterra to try. I was going to start him on that on Monday (yesterday). Well dh said over the weekend. Take him off of that crazy pill. DS had started worse with the mood swings and what have you, talking to him self, the depression. It was awful. So dh says take him off that pill its making him crazy. Well this week he has not had it. Having a hard time in school. getting in trouble. nothing bad, just not doing his work. playing tusseling, and such when he should not be. I am at a loss as to what to do.
The teacher was telling me he is at risk of failing the 3rd grade. I am like saying to myself I dont want that to happen but if it does we need to find out what the problem is so we wont go through the same issue again. I am having him evaluated through the school to see if he qualifies for any modifications.
This is a heavy burden I carry and I have no idea what to do. Do I do nothing or what. Worried mom..........

My son was so out of control and we could tak it anymore so we finaly gave into the medication.
I would try behavior modifacation and maybe a reward system you can look through the posts get different types of charts to use. we use a chore and behavior one for my 2nd grader (non adhder)and a behavior one for my 5 year old (adhder)
I have some behavior modification sheets that a church member she gave me. She is a Licensed CLinical Social worker. She gave me the stuff earlier in the year. I guess now its time to find it and use it. it had certificates, the point system. goal sheets. We have chore charts here already. they seem to work. But I have to remind him. I have some marble. I thought of assigning a certain number of marbles per day and at the end of the week he get a reward depending on the number of marbles. Oh I dont know. But thanks
