Let’s create an ADHD School. | ADHD Information

OK- now is the time to 'create' our own school for our children on paper in the forum. What our kids need and we need for our kids.

For my part: NO Homework! Separate corrals for the children so there can't be distractions. The corrals can be built around the walls of the classroom. A wall against the wall and side walls (kind of like the science boards you see for projects.) Maybe headphones with music. Beanbags for chilling out.

No detention. 1:5 teacher/aide ratio. Reports to parents each day about behavior, and positive actions.

come on guys: help out.....

more outdoor time. 15 minutes int he a.m., after lunch  and 15 minutes in the p.m.

I second the homework....a LITTLE is ok, but what they have is ridiculous...........

Being that my ADD kiddo is also autistic he'd need the supports for speech and OT service as well. A lot of your ideas would be WONDERFUL!

Built-in sensory breaks and a quiet corner for when a meltdown is about to happen.

Wouldn't this be wonderful.

How about no bullies allowed .

Also specialized computers for everyone !!   laptops I think  (They would all have installed on them Kurzweil and Dragon )
