Today, I realize my little boy is gone and now he is a young man. It also shows he has been listening to what we say to him. It is a bittersweet day for me.

/   I know that bittersweet feeling!

How nice that you and your son communicate so well.

Awwww!

They DO grow up!

How sweet and what awesome communication and I'm amazed at how well he can put his thoughts into words!

Hope the party was fun!

My son was invited to a birthday party by and older woman ( he is 12 and she turned 15 today). He got up and got dressed and we went out for a card. We stopped at Lowe's and Dad ran in. My son told me that he wasn't  going to take his meds today but he decided he should so he wouldn't mess up her party but doing something goofy there. I was so impressed with his thought process. We have been having a big battle over his meds. He thinks he doesn't need them and I tell him he does.  We actually talked about the meds do for both of us, Mom is ADHD and on meds too.  He acted kind of shocked when I was ADHD too. He didn't know Mom was on meds too.

We continued our conversation and I mentioned that he should wear something a little better looking, he was wearing camo shorts and a red plaid shirt. (He was not making a very impressive fashion statement.) I told him his black jeans made him look long and lean and girls like that look. He told me that he thought intelligence was more important than appearances.  Which started a whole another conversation.

reruho39690.8805092593awwww, I hope he has a great time!  He said he did, but he did comment it was a long party (4 hours).

How sweet

My son will be 11 in a couple months and just got his first call from a girl (whose calling b/c she thinks he's cute, ect..., not just a friend call)  He thought it was great, it was bittersweet for me.

I personally think that the girl is too young (she's 10) to be calling a boy, but he enjoyed it!

Awwww, he sounds like a wonderful young man!   Good for him for realizing that it was a good idea to take the meds, and I'm so impressed w/ his comment to be more concerned about the inner person than someone's appearances.  You've done a good job raising him!
