| Medication Completely Stopped Working! | |||
| |
Hi, I am new here and I am a little concerned because today my medication did not work at all for some reason. I was perscribed dexedrine, of which I take 10 mg 3x per day, to help me focus and keep me energized because I am on an ssri that makes me very tired and unable to focus on my work. The dexedrine has been working great for me, but all three times I took my pills today, I experienced NOTHING. My pulse usually elevates by 10-20 beats per minute, along with my blood pressure, but I felt neither increase nor did I experience any beneficial responses as I usually experience. This happened to me once last week too. Has anybody ever experienced this? I am worried that my body has built up a tolerance to it, but I do not know why a tolerance would not be much more gradual. It is like I didn't even take my medication today. I did skip it yesterday in addition to skipping my daily dosage of my anti-depressant yesterday. Some times I vary the dosage of dexedrine by 5 or 10 mg depending on how long my day is, but I have never experienced any problems in the past regarding my sometimes irregular doses. I am just wondering if anybody has experienced this, or if anybody has any insight?? Thanks! PS I did not eat anything acidic today, nor did I eat anything that could inhibit the absorption of the medicine (to the best of my knowledge). |
