| starting college- really nervous | |||
| |
I'm freshman in college and I'm starting college in a few days. My college is about 2 hours from my house. I'm just nervous about everything. I'm nervous about making friends, my classes, being homesick, and tons of other things. I've never spent more than a few nights away from my parents and tend to get homesick. College is so different than what I'm used to. I don't know what to do.All people are naturally wired to feel comfortable in their bubble, no matter how satisfied one may be... thats why its called your comfort zone. One of the best ways to become more rounded is to escape that comfort zone and experience new things (thought processes, ideas, concepts, activities, etc...) I'm taking my last semester of classes in college right now. Relax, take a deep breath, and experience new things. You can go back nearly any weekend being that close, your true friends will never abandon your relationships and you now have the great opportunity to become a part of the world. Everything is a mindset, if you chose to be happy and love it, you will enjoy every second of college life, if you chose to stay uncomfortable well... you will remain that way. Its your life, its your choice.Thats for the advice. I just finished my second weekend here. I'm not as homesick as I thought I'd be and I'm having a ton of fun. The classes are hard to get used to but I'm really glad I choose the school I did. And in about 3 or 4 weeks I'm going home for the weekend, so I have that to look forward to. |
