EEG Results | ADHD Information

Wow imagine that "a mother knowing their child".

So since i finally got a psychiatrist to listen to me and agree with me he ordered an eeg. well it came back inconclusive because there was something all over it, but they couldn't tell for certain that it was seizures. So now he has to have an MRI. The psychiatrist believes he's got something going on up there from the "HEAD INJURY" last may. Imagine that, I want so badly to go back to the Neurologist who told me an mri was a waste of time, and all of the other doctors who told me he was fine that the head injury didn't do anything to him and say I TOLD YOU SO!!!! Listen to your mothers darn it. We know our children.

Anyway it'll be monday before I can get that scheduled and no telling how long it will take to get those results back. after all it took us 5 wks to get his eeg results.

Otherwise, he is doing wonderful on daytrana. He loves it and the fact that he doesn't have to take it. We are still battling with encopresis. But he's talking to a psychologist about it and she is helping him. Also she is working on social skills with him because he's having trouble adjusting to 1st grade and making friends. :( He told her he was lonely and that he didn't have any friends. My heart ached and i cried.

He's getting extra 4 on 1 reading time with a seperate teacher to help him fill in gaps and get him caught up where he needs to be. So I'm happy about that.

My daughter still has the swelling in the optic nerves and my nephew actually just got diagnosed with the same thing. So they are telling me it is hereditary now, but wont say what its called or what i need to do etc except notify them immediately if she has any vision changes. Grrrr.

I think that is about it for now. I'm getting ready for a craft fair next weekend since I opened my own store, but once that is over hopefully i'll finally have a little bit of down time for myself to come on and chat.

Lucky are the kids that have a proactive mom.   Best of luck to your kids and, also, to you in your new venture.

Ask for copies of the EEG and MRI reports and mail them to the neurologist. No need to say more.

Oh thats a great idea. I think I will do that and send copies to all 5 doctors that just acted as though I was a paranoid mother over reacting. Thank you.
