My son was just diagnosed ADHD and we just started Medication this weekend, doctor wanted me to try it at home first so I can watch for side effects. Well he is taking Adderall and yesterday no real symptoms he did say his stomach hurt but only for a few min. and then he was fine. Well this morning I gave it to him and about 30 min. later he started with diarrhea. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this as a symptom and if they did, does it go away or is this something to expect everytime? I could actually tell a huge difference in his behavior and self control but, it is not worth having diarrhea every day !! It is probably something that will go away, or totally unrelated. Nope, unrelated problem.It only happened this morning no more than that but, he had such a hard time falling asleep tonight didnt fall asleep until 10 45 after being in bed at normal time of 7 45
trouble falling asleep is a common side effect. It should diminish over time... getting some exercise end of the day/evening might help -- usually works for me!

[/QUOTE]Actually diarrhea could be a side effect - in that irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) if there can be irritated by stimulants. I too got both sides of that spectrum when starting dexedrine (both diarrhea and alternately constipation). It soon went away on its own thankfully.
