Concerta & Weight Loss

I have been prescribed Concerta by my doctor and I was wondering if
anyone experienced a significant change in appetite while taking it. When I
was on Adderall it made me lose a lot of weight. Does Concerta do the same
thing? Would you say it is more or less powerful in that way? Thanks for
your time.

concerta does the same thing. my son lost about 4 lbs from just a month on it. he always said he wasnt hungry. he would eat when it wore off though in the evening.

Concerta did th esame to my son too. Worked well though,

I've been on concerta for about six years. My weight didn't drop but when
I'm on it I'm almost never hungry. I've just learned to schedule my eating
around my meds. Agreed.  Methylphenidate, like many other types of ADHD medications, does artificially suppress the appetite (by boosting dopamine levels, it "tricks" the body into believing it's not hungry).  Since it is a more gradual release than other stimulant ADHD medications, this often means that the appetite suppression is not quite as pronounced as with other medications, but the suppressive effects carry on for a longer period of time.  The good news (and I've seen it first hand), is that once the effect wears off (often around 8 p.m.), the individual typically makes up the calorie deficit very quickly.  It just means eating a large breakfast beforehand, trying to take something very small down at lunch, and then pushing dinner back a few hours.  Good luck with the treatment!
