any child taking Zoloft? | ADHD Information
My son (8) has been on 25 mg for 2 years now and I really think we shoud increase since he still seems to get so worried about loud nosies again so the doc think we can go up to 50mg and just wondering how much your child is taking and if your child is also taking an ADHA med do you give them at the same time? I was told I can, but it seems strange to give 2 kinds of pills at the same time.
Just wondering
Thanks
Marie
Hi. Yes, my ds is 8 yr. old. He is currently taking 15mg. Daytrana and 25
mg. Zoloft. We have been doing this for over 1 year now. He was really
freaked out in hot weather about bugs (flies, bees and wasps). Recently,
he went through a growth spurt and gained about 5 pounds. We are
going to increase his Daytrana to 20mg. patch tomorrow because the
15mg. doesn't seem to work well anymore. I think we will also have to
increase the Zoloft. He is anxious and it affects his behavior. Also, he
has started to "twirl" the front part of his hair. Originally, our dr. said we
could go to 1 and a half pills of Zoloft 25mg. We never did go that high.
I guess that would be about 37mg. about. I might do that since the
Daytrana increase will most likely bring about more anxiety. This combo
of medicine is common and I wouldn't worry about it. I have a friend
who's son (9) takes Focalin XR plus Zoloft. They are safe to take together.
