HI,

I am a mom to 5, 3 of them have been diagnosed with ADHD in the past few years and during that period I was also diagnosed.  At first, I was so excited to be able to learn more and try medication to help myself.  I tried several, Concerta, Adderall, and finaly ritalin.  the ritalin was working great, then it seemed like my body adjusted, so we upped the medicine to 20mg two times/day.  After a bit, I noticed some of the same side effects as the other meds.  I get EXTREMELY tired, tired like I have been drugged and have no other option to sleep.  I get apathy and feel like just sitting around, I don't want to read, take a walk, I feel depressed and foggy headed.

Anyone else have these kinds of side effects? I feel like I have to go off the ritalin because I can no longer function, I am unable to keep up with the house and can't even work a full day.  I haven't seen others who had these kinds of severe reactions though, although maybe there are stories in the archives.
