Can anyone help. My 8yr has tantrums where he will hits bits and shouts at me, he does did in the home, in the street in fact the only place he seems to behave is at school. He is unable to sit still and will intrupt when talking to anyone. When I ask him to do something he either forgets or does hear me, he shows little emotions when he hurts people. The only way I can get him to sleep is to stay with him for a minum of a hour otherwise he will come downstairs for upto 8 times, he rarly sleeps for the compleat night coming into my room in the early hours. Now he has become funny about eating believing he will be fat.

I am currently waiting for the referral appointment. But as I work for social services I am aware how often the parenting is blamed for childrens behaviour, I just woundered if anyone who had child has Adhd is good at school.
sure LOTS of kids with ADHD are good at school. The key is getting a proper/solid diagnosis and appropriate interventions and treatment. Sounds like you're on the right path.
