Ok so I sorta posted about my sons situation in the school section, but I have a quick question, before I go to his teacher in the am and say something to her about it. Long story short, his 1st grade teacher recommended him for pre-referral for services. Anyway I agreed to the testing. My question is his teacher continued to say things that concerned her. I don't know what made me think of it tonight, but I'm wondering about it.
She said that when they are doing work in class on the chalkboard he does GREAT!!! But when she is one on one with him he doesn't understand her. Like she was going over his site words with him, and she asked him what "do" was and he sad "d" instead of "do". She said but at the chalkboard she told them to find the word "get" out of a stack of 6 sheets. He did it right off.
Now my question is, when she uses the chalkboard she uses her microphone/over head speakers. when she is one on one with him she doesn't. Could this be part of APD? Cause he was tested back in feb and he had perfect hearing. But the lady suggested we have him tested for apd if he was struggling with sounds and rhyming etc. especially after his head injury.
anyway i want to go to the school & teacher with this, but i want to make sure i'm close first i don't want to look like a moron if i'm way off.
Thanks in advance.
