Today my son (13) was diagnoised with ADHD and prescibed Adderall XL10. Any info you may have about this medication or dosage will help me sleep tonight. I'm concerned about his sports after school. He is very active in football right now and I'm wondering if this will slow him down. He gets a lot of playing time and I don't know if this drug will take away from him performing. Thanks hi and welcome. 10mg of Adderall XR is a low typical starting dose. It should not slow him down at all for sports. It actualyl may be worn off by afternoon sports, but the purpose of meds is to relieve symptoms with minimal to no side effects. You can research Adderall for the most common possible side effects, but don't wrry too much as there is no way to know until the med is actually taken. My daughter took Adderall when first diagnosed. It helped with her symptoms, she did have some side effects, of appetite suppression and mild insomnia. She was younger at that time, only 9. she is now 14 and still on meds.Is she still taking the same kind? Adderall? |
