My heart rate on Adderrall is around 100. My normal heart rate is about 80. Well, I'm no doc, but I can do math.
That's a 20% increase.
Did he mention this as a possible side effect?
Have you read the label?
On the other hand, a little reading indicates that both are within adult female norms.
When resting, the average adult
human
heart beats at about 70 bpm (males) and 75 bpm (females); however, this
rate varies among people and can be significantly lower in endurance
athletes. The infant/neonatal rate of heartbeat is around 130-150 bpm,
the children's heart beat is 100–130 bpm, the older child's about
90–110 bpm, and the adult's about 60–100 bpm. 75 beats per minute
translates to 4500 beats an hour, 108,000 beats per day, or about
39,420,000 beats in a year.
I'd still ask a professional.
Best wishes...
Upon further reading, they had more to say.
Heart rates above 100 are considered tachycardia.
The electrical system can be stimulated in a variety of ways to make the
heart beat faster. In times of stress, the body generates adrenaline, and among
other symptoms it produces, it can make the heart beat faster. Think of being
frightened and feeling your heart race. Increased thyroid hormone levels in the
body can also cause a tachycardia. Ingestion of a variety of drugs can also
cause the heart to race, including
caffeine,
alcohol, and
over-the-counter cold
medications that include drugs like phenylephrine. These compounds get
metabolized by the body to act like adrenaline on the heart. Illegal drugs like
methamphetamine and
cocaine can also cause a sinus tachycardia.
Adderall is legal methamphetamine.
Here's a few links I've glanced at, that would inform you better.
...... Adderall is legal methamphetamine.....
NOT!! (Not that it matters a whole lot...) Adderall is a mixture of these amphetamine salts: Dextroamphetamine Sulfate, Amphetamine Sulfate, Amphetamine Aspartate Monohydrate, and Dextroamphetamine Saccharate. Not a "methyl" group in the bunch!
If someone wants "legal methamphetamine" they'd need a prescription for Desoxyn, not Adderall.
Thank you for all the help! I will look into these sites !Ooops.
Adderall is legal amphetamine...
I guess I had meth in my head...
A 20 beat per minute boost is definitely a side effect worth watching, for any medication, ADHD or otherwise. I might look into a lower dosage and see if that helps the heart rate go down a bit. What dosage are you on right now?
I'm no doc, but I can do math.
I can do math in my head.
Same place I do meth.
Not that it matters.
Cuz I don't do
meth.
I do
math
instead.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Must have overdosed on math...
OMG!
That first part acutely rhymed!
LOL!
Sorry Citygirl42st.
You really should talk to your doc.
Seriously.
Best wishes.
