| Adderrall XR moving to Vyvanse? | |||
| |
Best to ask you guys becasue you always know better than any doctor I've ever met! How has Vyvanse worked for your children? Good or bad...we're starting it next and I'm thinking it will either be really good or the other way. Thanks all, Kim
...we're starting it next and I'm thinking it will either be really good or the other way....
Methinks the best approach to this (and every) med change is the same way you likely hope that your child will approach it....with an open mind and no expectations.... to do otherwise can complicate things and predisposes you to possible bias. I Love it. My Daughter has been on it for alomost a year. She is doing better in school. Making more friends. and just seems happier. Now we had to up it twice before we got the results we needed. But so far so good it is working great. But with all meds it is trial and error. Good luck and I hope it works for you . MelissaMy DS (almost 9) has been Adderrall XR for 2 years now. Last Fall, we tried Daytrana but the first week was a nightmare so I decided to stick with Adderrall. I am debating on trying Vyanase in the hopes that we won't see so much with rebound and maybe he won't be as moody. It seems like he's eating more for dinner these days so I'm wondering if his dosage needs to be increased and maybe he's metabolizing his meds too quickly now. I am waiting until our next prescription (end of October) to decide whether or not to try Vyanase -- he'll have a 2 month break from soccer so I thought it would be a good time to give it a try. I plan to stick with it for at least a month (unlike Daytrana but we didn't like the patch application either). Good luck! Please keep us posted! So far so good...I think it will need to be upped a bit. She's on 30 now. This is teh 4th day. Yesterday she was in touble for talking, which is always better than taking something from someone! The nights are still hard...that's why I think we may need to increase it. We'll wait for a coupel weeks to see... Soccer is a blessing for my child! She loves it and it wears her out! The winter we will try basketball. It's super great for her self esteem! I will keep you posted! Thanks for your advice! My ds has been on Vyvanse 30mg for almost a month now. The first couple of days were a littler rough. He did talk alot at first but now he's just like the other kids. If you didn't know him you wouldn't know he has ADHD. His teachers just love the meds with him too. I don't see any tic's with this medicine as some ppl have listed. The only thing I don't like is he doesn't eat. Two bites and he's done. Wow.... Well good luck with this medicine. |
