I read the other thread on provigil and was wanting to see if I could get more feedback. Doc starting my ds on provigil. He is just about 8 and has adhd and aspergers. He has been on ritalin la for about 3 years. His focus just isnt the same and I dont want to up his dose because he already rolls his eyes as a tic and seems over medicated. She suggested provigil and seemed excited about it. I asked my cousin who is a pharmacist and she thought it was a great one to at least try. Someone mentioned tic exaserbation with provigil? Pdoc said this has decreased tics. that was me. We thought the Provigil would be less likely to increase tics, but it wasn't . Terrible, Day 1 eye rolling and pulling eyelashes. She had done that on Concerta. We only lasted 4 days. I LOVED it for her symptoms, but cant have her pulling out her eyelashes so we had to stop. Others have used it successfully. Darn...He already rolls his eyes. We will seeoh yeah it might be fine for him. You know how these meds go. What's great for one is anothers nightmare, you just never know. In theory the Provigil should be better for side effects. Certainly can't go by my daughter, she has trouble with most meds. Yah I know! Thank you for the response. We already have a road bump with insurance. My son was on a dosing study for provigil and I thought it was wonderful. I saw a difference in my son on the first dose and we were not even at target dose. He had very few side effects. My son gained weight on this med and he slept better. The study had a case of Steven Johnson Syndrone, which is a severe allegic reaction. After that, the company ended the study. |
