My son who is 6 has been dianosed w/ ADHD this year. The adderall is working and i do see improvements, but i still feel some of his old behavior habits are still just not going away. I would imagine since it's taken him 6 years of learning that whinning and defiance gets his way it will probably take a little while to change it. My dr. has mentioned a behavior therapist, has anyone tried this approach and what are your thougths on it. THanks in advance!

Janie,
My sons see a Behavior Therapist and I think it works for them What works for some might not work for others. Right now The boys love going to Therepy they look forward to it. and I couldn't be happier with the outcome because She gives me tips also what not to do when my oldest goes into a Whining fit. or my youngest doesn't want to do anything I tell him to. BTW My oldest is also on Adderal and he's been on Ritalin and Concerta and Adderal is the only one we have seen that has worked and has been working. I feel my kids seeing a Therapist is not a bad thing it's helping regulate our life. might put a strain on driving and our schedule but it's well worth it. if it's going to help. you know.
