Happy Happy Joy Joy moment!!! | ADHD Information
I want to post a few excerpts from Ashton's teacher's emails/letters she's written me over the few weeks..... this is for those that are new to this whole ADHD (and/or Autism experience as it might be) that GOOD things CAN and DO happen for our kids.
1st things first .. this is a quote from her email to me last week.....
Jenn- Ashton is such a joy to work with! I have to tell you that I
truly enjoy working with him and want to keep up with him throughout
the years. Honestly, he's a special one in my heart!
This was after her telling me about some of his antics and anxiety episodes he's had at school. She doesn't see these bad things as "faults" rather as parts of his personality/disposition that need to be tapped into, the correct way. She's sees my "baby" as the wonderful kid he is and sees the help he needs. She doesn't consider him OR his issues a burden... it's just WHO he is and he might need more help at times!
this is from this week .... she just Ashton as the "Student of the Month" for his class. Keeping in mind that it's a special ed class with only 6 students, there were 5 other students she could have chosen! I think she chose him now because she's going out on maternity leave in a few weeks and wanted to be able to be here to experience the special things these kids get.
Ashton is just talking SO much better and is such a diligent worker! He's a joy to work with and the aides love him as dearly as I do.
So, it's NOT just the teacher, but rather the whole placement adores him. It's so obvious when you see them interact with my son. The school security director has taken Ashton under his wing and if Ashton's having a rough day at school, he inevitably asks to speak to Mr Jackson. This man has such an admirable way of connecting with my son that I've never seen another male do.
SO... that's our feel good post for now! :) WE still have our bad moments but now that we have him in the best possible placement, with the best teachers he's FLOURISHING!
How wonderful!!!!!!! Congratulations to your ds and hats of to you mom

That is so awesome, it is such a joy to read about one of our kids having a good day. Congrats.

That is wonderful! Having an understanding, caring teacher is such a blessing. Sounds like your Ashton is doing a great job!
