Medical Tests | ADHD Information

Both of my kids had EKG and blood work including standard hematology (CBC) and chem panel, thyroid panel and a few other test (it has been a while). Depending on what med is used, routine checking for liver enzymes and/or fasting glucose are done.

Hi Vickie, Thanks for that info. I asked the pedi about the blood tests and he said that there really was not anything that they would be able to tell from them regarding the meds w/ exception of liver function for the lexapro he is on. He asked that I review this with the psych as she controls his meds and has the full med history. As for the EKG they actually have a document already drawn up on it and give it to all who are prescribed stimulants, we went through the psych and they dont do that. So we will be getting the EKG in a few days.

Leoka-tgood luck with the new dr and I would bring them a copy of the AHA doc on this. Maybe that will help.

My ds has a physical this afternoon with his pedi. We see a psych for meds and she never ordered any tests before or after prescribing. I want to start having him routinely tested so that we can monitor him. I plan on asking for a complete blood work up and an EKG (electrocardiogram)
