Hang in there. You may need to look at the non stimulants such as strattera or the third tier meds such as quanfacine (which works on impulsivity/hyperactivity and not as much for attention). What kind of doc is he seeing for med management? A psychiatrist is more experienced with med managment than a pediatrician and will work with higher doses and different meds than a ped will.
I know this is hard for both of you. It will get better.
He is seeing a behaviorist pediatrician as a part of the clinic that specializes in ADHD, Asberger's and Autism. they told me it might be a long process of finding something that makes a difference. They also prepared me for the remote possibility that nothing will work. As much as I don't want to medicate my kid, I realize that if it helps him, everything will be better. Please let the solution come sooner rather than later....!!!
