Has anyone dealt with this?
If so..how? Need some support here
A little more info would be helpfu-nevermind, I just saw your other post...
Sometimes dealing with untreated or insufficiently treated ADHD can bring on depression or anxiety. If this is the case, proper treatment for the ADHD can make the depression clear up. If the depression is separate, it needs to be treated but antidepressants mixed with ADHD meds can be tricky and best managed by a pyschiatrist (as opposed to a pediatrician).
I was uncomfortable when my youngest was going to start risperdal for anxiety, as it is a pretty serious med. The psychiatrist was great about explaining how the dose was so low, how rare side effects were, and what to watch for that we went for it. I also went home and did a literature search on this med for ADHD and kids and checked that there really were no issues with the med and it was very effective. THis gave me the comfort to go ahead with the med. This med made a huge difference until her stressful issues passed and she no longer needed the risperdal. We keep it in reserve in case we ever need it again.
What I am saying is if you can educate yourself on what to expect, what to look out for, etc. Maybe you can gain the comfort to try the med combo out. If you have too much anxiety, you will second guess the decision and drive yourself crazy and that is not good. Here are links that may help:
