I have a daughter who is 17 and has just been diagnosed with ADHD. She is on 20 mg of Adderall XR and she seem irritated all the time. Her friends have notice it also. She is doing great in homework and classwork and seems to not fidget so much, but the irritation is bothering her.
Does anyone know if this will go away. She has been on it for about a week.
Any help would be appreciated.
My son is 4 and he too experianced some irritation with people when the put him up to 10mgs. Very little patiance with others and wold cry very easily. We are on our third week and that problem seems to have gone away unles we run late on getting his second dose then he has a rougher day that day.
If she seems irritable all the time, perhaps her dose is too high. Try a lower dose to see if irritability decreases. If not, perhaps another med will work better. Finding the correct med and optimal dosage can be frustrating, but, it's worth it in the end. Good luck and keep us posted
