Thanks for your input. My dd has returned to a more normal state now that she is back in school. Since she had a long vacation, it was most likely due to the med break. She doesn't want to use the patch when there is no school. Not usually a problem. I might talk to her about it.
It is interesting to see the difference. She is less anxious too.
Excellent!
...or just turning 13?
My dd has been diagnosed with ADD - inattentive since 2nd grade. She started the patch in 6th grade to help with classwork and doing homework (now by herself since I went back to work). She doesn't use it on weekends or hollidays. She has always been a bit anxious but now it is getting a little out of hand. I am thinking hormones are playing a part but maybe the patch too? She has never had a lot of friends but now she is far behind her peers in maturity.
She has this thing whenever she passes a sink she has to wet her hands. Then she will not dry them off so they drip, drip, drip around the house. It is driving me crazy. She will not tell me why she is doing this. Last night, I caught her scooping up water in her hands and wetting down her sheet. I couldn't believe it or understand it. I try to ask her what is wrong and she says nothing. I am waiting for her to break down and tell me what is happening.
I wonder if I should seek professional help or is this just some weird thing she heard about doing? sigh To make matters worse, I have promised not to tell anyone that she is ADD and on the patch so I have no one to talk to about it. Her dad just says it is a phase.
Thanks for letting me vent, it helps,

13-year-olds are weird. But there sounds like more going on than teen weirdness.

She may not know why. At that age all you ever get out of a kid is usually, "I dunno."
I suggest getting some counselling help for this child or if you are already in therapy, bringing this up. There's a few possibilities that jump my mind.I wonder if I should seek professional help or is this just some weird thing she heard about doing? sigh To make matters worse, I have promised not to tell anyone that she is ADD and on the patch so I have no one to talk to about it. Calling up boys and telling them they have fleas, playing pranks, eating pizza at the top of a tree then falling out and grapefruit diets are normal at that age. So is wanting a pony. However, splashing water around is new on me. Can't hurt to check it out for everyone's sanity.
