ADHD race and culture question | ADHD Information

Hi everyone! I am a grad student with ADHD, and I wanted to ask a question for a class project and for my own personal curiosity:

Do you think that your race or culture influences the difficulties you have related to your ADHD? For example, I wonder if a Christian person with ADHD might have difficulty sitting still and focusing on prayer/talking to God, or if a person from a culture where people are supposed to respect their elders might have more difficulty refraining from making comments to elders that others deem inappropriate. What do you think? Are your difficulties with ADHD different due to your racial or cultural background? Thanks for your help!!!

Don't envy anyone trying to make a legitamate study using culture, religion and ADHD.
What are you taking in school? As an adult with ADD I think it affects prayer. I have
the inattentive type and have to talk to God out loud.
If I try to just pray in my head I wind up all over the
place. I am not sure it would be any different for a
person of another faith as most religions encourage
prayer and/or meditation.

Paul    I am a doctoral student in psychology, and I am really interested in race and culture issues, and also really interested in ADHD... I am just curious about what the interaction between race/culture and ADHD might be. No one has really researched this, and I am wondering if it might be worth looking into.
