I don’t know what to do | ADHD Information

strattera is dosed by the individual's weight and stays in your system. You start off at a lower dose and slowly move up where you level off. Again, it is all based on your weight.

Could she be too high?

My son became depressed on strattera ( a side effect ), he wanted to kill himself at the age of 8. He was immediatley taken off and has never mentioned anything about it, again a total side effect.

Are you sure it is the best med for her? Call the doctor and tell him/her. Something is going on. I would also wonder if there isnt' a better med for HER.

What works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. My son is great on concerta, but can't handle adderal XR. Others are the opposite. Unfortunately it is trial by error. But when you do find the right med, it is worth all that it took to get there, believe me!!

Call the doctor, something isn't right!!

My dd age 8 was diagnosed with ADHD the begining of this year. My husband is active duty army and we have been away from him for a long period of time- this time. Since July 2007.  He has been able to make a few trips back home for short periods and dd has had a difficult time. Through a series of events and a wonderful therapist she was diagnosed. I am starting to think that she might have something else going on. She is on Strattera and it became less effective so the Dr uped her dose from 25mg to 40mg.  She has been having these rages over little things. At first it was everyonce in a while and now it's becoming more frequent. I am concerned that there might be something more. I notice that there are a lot of others in this same kind of situation with the rage factor, but this is all new to me.  Any suggestions as to what I can do to help her? I am calling the Dr tom. to set up an appt to talk with him about all of this.  Our home is can be very stressful. I myself am having a difficult time as I also have a ds 3yrs and a dd 1yr. I am a full time college student and have read many books for alternative discipling and understanding children in this situation but the rages are scaring me and I am afraid that there is something else going on.

Strattera is highly dose depended. I became very aggressive when  under dosed.

Please check with your doc. Either this is not the right dosage or another medication might be more suitable.
