Switching to Adderall XR 10 Mg | ADHD Information
my older son is on 5mg of Adderall XR in the mornings. It evens him out enough (in conjuction with the 1mg of Risperdal that he's on) that he's able to concentrate and focus on school work (mostly, though not always) and is a fairly happy, go-lucky kid. Without an ADHD med he's just constantly on the go and talks 100 miles a minute. Very very stimmy and hyper.
We have not noticed any negative side effects of the Adderall XR (particularly since my son is on a fairly small dose for his size).... which is a major improvement over the aggression he started experiencing with the Focalin XR/Focalin combo he was on (10mg/5mg).
My younger son is on Vyvanse and he's doing wonderfully on it! Not as hyper/on the go as he used to be and he's a lot more patient and definitely not as chatty as he used to be. He's a focused, well-mannered, well-behaved kid who can now do his homework in 10mins as opposed to 3hrs! YAY!
DS brand new with medication. Used Metadate 10 mg --but, had an aggressive response right away. Dr switching him to Adderall XR 10 Mg tomorrow. All of his aggression focused on his sister - anyone using Adderall that can tell me what to expect. How long before we see a positive response (immediate or building up) --also, what about the aggressiveness. Dr wanted to put him on valyvase (sp?) because she said there should be less emotional distrubance, but ins wouldn't pay for it. I would like to hear some positive results reported --feel very down. Thanks!
