Fantastic news!!!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is

since starting meds 2.5weeks ago, was AWESOME!

The teacher has noticed a huge behavioral difference (less talking, MUCH more focused and his work habits are a lot better!) and he had quite a good report.

Luckily, my son's progress report came on the same day as our med checkup with the pediatrician. The nice thing is I was able to show him copies of his work since he started meds and show HIM the progress report. He was VERY happy and proud of Holden, Yay!

The best thing about the Vyvanse... is Holden still has his personality. The first few days he was a bit dull and very quiet, but he's perked up since then but the defiance is a WHOLE lot less and he's just as spunky as ever! YAY!

The only issue we've had is the horrible time going to asleep, despite 10mg of melatonin each night. So, we've added .1mg of Clonidine to Holden's ADHD regimen (same as his brother, LOL) and reports from Grandma are that Holden slept wonderfully last night!

I can't believe we hit the right med right off the bat! Now of course the question is, could things be EVEN BETTER? Probably, but I don't want to mess with the dosage right now; unless we start noticing difficulties. He'll go back in April for his 7yr well check, so we'll discuss then. Other then that, Holden doesn't need to go back but every 6months for a checkup.

Now, if I could get my other kiddo on the road to recovery.... he's suffering from a bout of Pneumonia and has been completely off all meds all week since he's been coughing/gagging/throwing up. Hopefully once he keeps the antibiotics down, he'll start feeling better. He was out of school all of last week (well, he went Monday but he might as well of been home since they said he slept almost all day and was unable to complete any work) and since they only have Monday and 1/2 day on Tuesday this coming week, I'm thinking I might just keep him out then as well just to give him a good long chance to recover without getting exposed to more germs at school. It sucks because he'll miss his holiday party at school but at this point, I just want him healthy! He's lost roughly 10lbs since he's been sick (weight he CAN stand to lose mind you) but still.

Here's to hoping the holidays are healthy and safe for you all!
Yay for a good report.  Those are the best

My son has the insomnia for the first 2-3 weeks after starting the med but then it goes away.  Hope it goes away for you guys to - it is the pits.  It comes back if he goes more then 5 days or so without it.
That's great!!! Isn't it nice to see some tangible rewards for the treatment and changes you've made?
