I Agree, we had problems like that on Vyvance, but so far not with Concerta, Be sure you tell the doctor all you see.Hey my son was recently diagnosed with adhd-combined diagnosis. My doctor started him on adderal 20 mg. The first day I noticed he cried almost all day over nothing he also could not keep his hands still and smacked his lips constantly. So I called the doctor and now im supposed to come in and pick up a script for concentra 18mg but from what im reading it might do the same thing.

My son is a very Happy, loving, affectionate child and Im worried that im going to change his sweet persanality just so he can do better in school and not distract the whole class.

Concerta is a different class of stimulant in the Ritalin family. Adderal is a combined stimulant. Ritalin is a single compound. He may react better to something simpler.

Medication can take a bit of trial and error. And no, you don't want to lose your little sweetie from the meds. You want to help him be a less distracted sweetie

That's normal. Parents are often frightened, worried and anxious because as an adult we can make a choice to medicate or not. As a parent, we're responsible for a little person's well-being because they don't have the capacity yet to make that choice. It's hard to make decisions for those we love even when we know it's probably in their best, long-term interest.
