I just started adderall generic brand 30 | ADHD Information

Share
I just started taking adderall xr and i noticed a difference right away. however i noticed alot of other side effects just recently. the xr form of adderall is a time released capsule and last longer. the form your taking might absorb faster and go out of your system faster there for your not noticing a bigger improvement. im not a dr but i hope that helped.

COREPHARMA (generic Adderall that Wallgreen's is using exclusively) SUCKS. U can tell right off the bat which ones they are, because they're bright pink round tabs instead of peach or orange (Barr or Eon labs). I've been taking those almost exclusively for the past few mos, and KNEW they were B.S, but just figured my tolerance had gone way up or something (I take 3 20mgs/3X's daily), which is also prob a factor, but they are RIDICULOUSLY different from the brand and the other generics (I've tried them all). So I looked up corepharma/generic adderall online, b/c I know that pharmacists and lots of other folks claim there is no difference between the brand/generic or different generics (Seriously, try the reg Adderall, then the pink ones, and tell me they are the same) and I came back with HUNDREDS of complains against this specific brand, some pending lawsuits, etc.

Now that I've wasted months of being unfocused, unmotivated, scattered (lost my job for excessive tardiness, not that I'm blaming Corepharma for that!) I got a new script from my Dr., just on my way to fill it now. I'm conducting an experiment to see which of the generics is better (the pink one's out) Barr or Eon labs; this month Barr, next month EON...so we'll see how that goes. Happy to have this new info/explaination for my recent behavior (once again, not blaming them for everything, but it contributed for sure) and hopefully soon back on track!

I just talked with my Dr. and he said that you need to increase the dose on generics and that he does have patients who insist on the Brand name. He even joked that when the XR becomes generic he'll switch me to it but it may not work as well.

I wish you would try EON first... I don't like Barr, even less than the CORE, which I thought of as sugar pills. My Dr decided instead of raising my Adderal dose for the generics to give me an extra Dexedrine. Haven't had any complaints with the Dexedrine.

Has anyone tried EON labs? or the other one? I believe there are 4 generics.

in indiana, we only have one type of regular adderall generic and one type of regular adderall.

Day 1:

okay, but get tired of telling the kid i baby sit to stop what he is doing.

Geez...it's hard to believe that you have fewer offerings in Indiana (pop. 6 mil+) than we do in Maine (pop. 1.2 mil)!   Perhaps it's your Pharmacy's choice to limit the types.

I am taking 30 mgs adderall generic brand. I am on Day one on it

How long will i notice i difference?

I went from ritalin 20 mgs 3 times a day which i been on since april 2004 to adderall generic brand 30 mgs 2 times a day.

I  am 24 years old.

I was diagnosed with adhd combined type and mild case in february 2001 at  age 16. I have been having problems my whole life.

Regular Adderall is effective for about 4 hours for me, and the long-acting XR variety of Adderall lasts about 6 hours....  the duration of effectiveness varies from person to person, so you'll have to see what it's like for you.   Here's hoping that Adderall offers you the benefits you're looking for!

oh...p.s.:  there are several manufacturers of generic Adderall and it makes a big difference with me who the manufacturer is.  Same strength pills from one maker do nothing for me while those of another do OK (not as good as real Adderall tho). So, the generic you are trailing right now may have a different effect on you than that made by another maker...     I guess my point is to be aware of the makers of the generics you try, and note how well, or not well, they work for you.  If your Pharmacist carries the same strength from several makers, ask for a sampling so you can discover for yourself which is most effective.  I let my pharmacist know which generic works for me and make sure that they will fill my script with it before I hand it over to them...

2D&C:  Barr works for me better than Core (sp?).  I think the patent on Adderall XR runs out sometime this year...in which case the generics should be cheaper than real XR...but then, who knows if the generic knock-offs will be as effective?? We won't know 'til we try!

That would be great!

Maybe it's the 4 hours verses the 6 - 8 hrs that gets me. I honestly keep forgeting to take my second dose. But even when I do it seems like a sugar pill.

Does anyone know for sure on that patent? I know they're (Shire) is pushing the Vyvanse pretty hard.

Looks like a generic mixed amphetamine salts, extended release (i.e. Adderall XR) may be available as soon as this spring... here's an excerpt taken from the material in the link provided below:

".... The Settlement and License Agreements permit Barr to launch a generic
version of ADDERALL XR, under terms of a license commencing on April 1,
2009, more than nine years earlier than the last-to-expire Shire patent
listed in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Orange Book, or earlier
under certain circumstances such as the launch of another party's generic
version of ADDERALL XR....."

John D,

Which generic works for you? I've tried Core and Barr. I heard Barr was the best but I don't think either work very well.

I'm thinking of paying for the real thing. Is this worth the money?

They had me on that Vyvanse that no one likes, and it gave me a headache around 5:30 every night and then I'd just crash.

I think the Adderall XR is what I need but my insurance won't even cover the generic! I tried it before, and I could focus and even be interested in what I was doing. I didn't jump around to different tasks. I felt well, like I imagine normal people feel like.

I think I answered my own question unless someone knows the generic that actually works!
